FORMER SOVIET UNION PHARMACETICAL COMPANY ENTERS AGREEMENT WITH AFRICA HOLDINGS Johannesburg, South Africa and Kharkov, Ukraine, February 13th , 2008 – Africa Holdings a conglomerate of travel, foreign exchange and technology solutions is pleased to announce it has entered into an exclusive distributor agreement for SADC regions with BBM Pharmaceutical to distribute their 42 types of veterinary vaccines. An initial distribution is planned for year 2009 with transaction volumes projected to exceed 2,000,000 in 2009. The contagious skin disease, caused by certain parasitic fungi, has a world-wide distribution. "Ringworm" (dermatomycosis) in cattle has been reported by FAO in 113 countries. The disease may cause economic loss in calf rearing colonies, rabbit and fur-animal ranches and may affect cows, horses, sheep, goats and pet animals respectively. Traditional treatment was found to be temporarily effective. Research institutes in the former Soviet Union developed a specific vaccine: LTF-130 which continues being produced in Russia. Large amounts of vaccines are produced and exported. Prophylactic and treating effect is estimated at 99.8 per cent. Establishing immunised stocks is of public health importance, immunised affected animals being no danger of infection to people.
